ok im pulling all my hair out,

I downloaded new textures....(like new textures for the basic creatures)
just a texture dir...no esp's or anything...just dds files....
I put them in the texture dir and they worked...

now...the xbox for some reason cleared all the cache...so i put everything back on the cache drive the same way i did before....now the new textures dont work...

im going to remove the setting files....and see what happens...it doesnt make any sence that first it would work and then it doesn't.
if I find anything out I will post the results...

ok i got it...any new textures will work with the game...here's what happens

when you copy files to the xbox they get some kind of a timestamp....and morrowind will only use textures that are newer....so....if you copy these new textures on the hd at 5:00 and it loads morrowind into the cache at 7:00 these newer textures wont work, the only way around this is to backup the bsa file...or if the game is on your hd before the textures is copyed.

nobody probably cares...but it could save you staying up all night like I did.

and if you load to many megs worth of textures you'll crash the xbox and get the dirty disk error....this also happens with textures from plugins.

Actually Protocol I'm right with ya. I still can't figure out how to get past the bazillion errors with TESCS... I dunno if I'm supposed to try to use TESCS that's in the Morrowind dir (on my PC ) of if I'm supposed to copy TESCS to some other dir and try from there. Either way it's crazy error city.

I've been able to copy an esp file and the Textures dir over to /X/data files/ but the textures fail to load in, so I'm at a loss at this point.

first off I take no credit for any of this

this is for morrowind goty

here it goes...

1. download the mod's you wish to use..(esm's, esp's, or just textures)
2. use tesdtk to make the esm to esp and remove the dependencies tribunal and bloodmoon plus make the esp version 1.3, the newly modified plugin will be in the tesdtk dir, which ever file has the most "free" 's is the last. rename to remove the free's and copy it back to the plugin dir overwriting the old one.
3. if the plugin has textures use tesxmc to prepare for xbox
4. copy over to xbox in a dir of it's own.....i use e:plugins
5. load morrowind up and load a saved game...once done igr back to your dashboard and use boxplorer to copy the mod over to the cache drive...(ex:y:data files, place esp and textures dir here.)

load up game an all should work

now for just textures....this is kinda tricky,
morrowind will just use textures that are newer than the ones it already has..so if the game loaded the morrowind esm file on ad 5 pm than that's what time it got...so you just can't have the textures on your e drive and copy them over every time cause they wont work, the morrowind esm file will be copyed new(new time). workarounds are having the game on your hd and then copy your textures off cd or ftp them over...they will alway's work this way. Or if you dont have the space just copy morrowind esm and copy it to the cache drive when you copy the new textures over. and you dont need to use tesxmc for just textures.

Can someone give a step by step explanation, I've tried to do this the 2 ways in this thread and also I followed the tutorial that I found on rpgplanet. I was trying to convert zerotheheros NpcReplace. My esp files crash the CS.

Nevermind, I found a thread on the offical Morrowind page that helped...

I tried this with two character mods I have, one is the mog mod and the other is wolvens28 or something, the mog mod will load when I try to create a new character however if I select it the game will crash, as for the wolvens28 if I even leave that in the same folder the game freezes, any suggestions?  Thanks!
