Hello,

On Debian the recent update of mono break the dependencies of XBGM package available on XBGM# - unofficial Debian package.
mono-assemblies-base needed by the package is now remplaced by mono-classlib-1.0 in this new version (for me 1.1.13.6-3)
You have 2 possibility:
1 - remove xbgmsharp & update mono
2 - don't update mon & keep xbgm

If U are interesting i have build a new package without this dependencie needed.
You can found it here: http://debian.weastbug.com/unstable/xbgmsh...9.0.7-3_all.deb
or add on your source.list this line:
CODE
deb http://debian.weastbug.com unstable/

You can remove this line after the update

Use my mirror only temporarily. I will not maintain the support of the future version, there is already a mirror for that.

Well, somehow the web page for this app lead to this forum thread so I figured I'd post here...

I'm very excited to use this program for mine and my brother's Xbox, unfortunately getting this software to run seems like an impossible task on Windows.

1) First off the installer creates an icon for a batch file that doesn't exist. Created this batch file manually using suggestions from FAQ.

2) I don't understand how this is a .NET program yet with both 1.1 and 2.0 Framework's installed, the software won't run - recieved "Application has generated an exception that could not be handled" error. Running this from DOS shows: "Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: File or assembly name gtk-
sharp, or one of its dependencies, was not found." I don't know much about programming but now I know that I need GTK-sharp...

3) Reinstalled the program and selected to install Mono & GTK+.  I recieve the exact same error as above.

4) I did some searching on the net, came to Novell's page and downloaded gtksharp-runtime-2.7.1-win32-0.4.exe. Upon running the program from my DOS prompt I now recieved a different error message about gtksharpglue-2.

5) I adjusted my path to include C:\GtkRun\2.8\bin ... and it now works!

My system is a fairly fresh install of Windows so I can see many others having similar problems attempting to get this to work without some serious intervention. Hopefully the author will make this app a little more user friendly for the Windows users - I'm sure if I was using Linux this would have gone smoother. These days, now that practically everyone has .NET framework installed, perhaps the software could be set to use this by default?

I actually didn't expect to get this program to work. What a serious pain in the neck but this little app is great.

After using this app for a bit I found it very buggy - it would close without displaying error messages, it would not retrieve directory listings if there was a game folder in the options that was empty and sometimes it just wouldn't display the games in the list.

Hopefully the author is still supporting this software because with a little tweaking it can be an awesome program.

Does anyone else have any suggestions for Xbox game browsing apps for PC?

Many of you ask me to make a version working in text mode. Due to some bug in extract-xiso.
This version of XBGM# allow you to use it in text mode.
XBGM# text mode have not been fully test, because i don't any xbox for the moment. So i need you for testing.
It compile on Ubuntu Dapper and MacOS X and Cygwin.
You we will need to build it from source, http://xbgm.sourcefo.../files.php#Text.
Hope you will like it.
Also, i am actually working on a better integration with XBMC then UnleashX.
You can read the advancement on the forum https://sourceforge....forum_id=273229.

For recall XBGM# is a tool multiplateforme which allows uploader xisos on the xbox the flight.
It supports Boost mode of Avalaunch and UnleashX.
It makes it possible to manage your Xbox plays since your PC but only with Avalaunch.
I am currently working on the modification of the FTp server of XBMC to add the functionality.
For more http://xbgm.sourceforge.net/ details

I do not have any more an xbox. This is why I ask you for your assistance and to as make sure it is working for  everyone.
XBGM# detects the dashboards according to UnleashX, Avalaunch, XBMC.
The support of EvolutionX will come shortly.
What I would like to test:
The BOOST mode should function with UnleashX and Avalaunch.
You should be able to start again, to stop the xbox with any dashdoard.

It is a debug version and I need the full ouput to check if all occurs well.
To carry out it to use the following order starting from a line of order (To start => Run=> cmd)
xbgmsharp.bat > debug.txt 2>&1

You can find the version to test Version debug
You will have to install Mono 1.1.17 available it:
Mono Download Page
For those which want to follow the evolutions of development:
Forum Sourcefoge Dev

I also improved the setup for win32 and the package for Debian/Ubuntu.
The tests will be with carried out once ready XBGM# to be distributed.

Thank in advance.

I am working on a better support for Unleashx and XBMC with XBGM#.
XBGM# is :
# Supports the FTP protocols
# Allow Xbox Game listings and icons
# Allow to shutdown/restart xbox
# Allow to launch Xbox Media Center or any XBE or XBMC script
# Show Xbox hard drive free space
# Allow for passive and non-passive file transfers
# Supports the xdvdfs format
# Allow decompressing xiso to your XBOX game directory
# Support Avalaunch/UnleashX BOOST MODE
# Allow to upload a directory with BOOST MODE
# Textmod version.

In this dev version Boost mode is support with Unleashx.
And i wish to add FREESPACE support.

i don't have any xbox for the moment. So i need you for testing.
Also i need than some one give me the full FTP ouput when doing a LIST command for XBMC and UnleachX.

Then i need the ftp output for SITE FREESPACE F, SITE FREESPACE G, SITE FREESPACE C with UnleachX

Hope you will help me.
When i get the output i could made a release in a day or two, so you could test it.

Thanks for feedback

forgive me for asking, but is it correct that this has limited (or no) features at all when using XBMC?

kaya just to let you know the gentoo ebuild needs a quick edit due to it not linking to new build

CODE
SRC_URI="mirror://sourceforge/xbgm/xbgmsharp_0.9.1.0-25.tar.gz"

it loops all portage mirrors looking for file, so cant build digest.
worked fine when edited to 0.9.1.0-26.tar.gz

Was about to send over a game today but was surprised to know that xbgmsharp isn't working anymore. Only get this message:

Error: Unable to open/read iso file:

Unknown type

Tried with different backups of the game with no result. Could it be that since last time (quite a while ago) mono has been upgraded and that brakes xbgmsharp?

Have tried to recompile xbgmsharp and listed dependencies in the ebuild.
