It comes with extras.

Why do people care so much about the differences.
People are buying up Halo and Crystal boxes because they look uniqe.

The biggest advantage I can see is that it will have XOS 2.X installed on it giving it out-of-the-box FTP for setup. This feature in itself is a big help to installers and noobs. No more burning CD-RW/DVD+RW.

If you buy a pre-ICE then you must burn a CD/DVD to do anything.

During my very first install of a Xenium I had to do so much reading on the burning of CD/DVD media just to get started. I tried numerous burning methods, media, XISO, gdfimage, Quix image, UDF. It was a nightmare. Sure I have it all figured out on my end now.

Sure you may get lucky to find a distributer that will pre-install XOS 2.X for you, but with the ICE version youre sure to know it has 2.X on it already.

when is the ice verison coming out?

also i want to get this chip since it will have 1.6 support, or is it the os2 that supports 1.6?

main question is should i go ahead and buy a the regular ones out now and then upgrade it to os2.

All the sites say that it is supposed to come out the 4th week in june which is next week. I got mine pre-ordered so i cant wait to chip this halo box as soon as i can. Never done a Xenium so im kinda curious. Im geeked that i dont have to flash or load an OS too.

Just look for an official reseller which is... I can think of a few I know of that are; including my shop.   wink.gif

Time and money, less of their time, more of your money.

Who wants to sit around reflashing every single chip in their inventory when it works as-is. I sure wouldnt want to. Maybe if all the smaller shops started doing it then it might force the bigger shops to do it also.

But really, when was the last time you've seen a shop go above and beyond the call of duty. They'll only want to do as minimal as possible to get your money.

The solderless will be on the page tomorrow.

If you're interested right now, simply order the normal xenium+solderless adapter for the moment and specify you would like the Xenium ICE in the comments field and we will process your order for that once its available.

It will be the same price.
