The reason they were saying it was unsafe was because of using the clips on the Scorpion for power and GND. If you touch the wrong part by accident, you can potentially damage something. The Probe3 is going to have PWR and GND built into the cable as can be seen as an example here:

Ill be sticking with my Xtractor 2.3 and MRA's

but on a side note, does it bother anyone else that support for this was already in JF?

I mean, this "recently discovered" method of extracting keys from all liteon drives magically just, works with JF's existing key extraction.

Ya, no.
They (meaning the JF dev team) knew about this method for some time in order to code up the solution in JF 78

My guess is someone discovered this way back, but soon after the mra had been developed and kept it quiet to make more $$$ off mra devices.

But oh well, thats how capitalism works, just sucks to be on this end of it!

Are you saying it works with any version of JF? or none?

they say the "newest" and I wondered if that meant the version to be released with the XUSB crap

what i dont understand so far is that part:

* Homebrew – Easy / Cheap To Make

means that that every xbox360 is now like a fully hacked jtag ?
or are there some limitiations what stops homebrew ?
homebrew like xell or xellous or even all the emulators and freestyle dash.

it would be pretty cool if alle console are now able to run all the homebrew.
that will give homebrew development a good push
and we can hope for all that stuff what is currectly missing like a homebrew media player.

Homebrew was probably not the best choice of words, as that is commonly used to refer to software.

It's just a DIY probe of sorts, for allowing the key to be extracted from your DVD drive, without having to cut and repair traces. Nothing to do with JTAG's or running unsigned code on your box.

It only works with a currently unreleased version of JF

Saw that phat liteon key option for the first time in that video. Made me think I didn't have the latest version of JF. Wrong, I did. So I now wondered if something else is up. Watch the video again. That video uses JF version 0.1.79 yet 0.1.78 is the latest you can get on the website so apparently "latest Jungle Flasher "does  not necessarily imply 'latest released Jungle Flasher'.  So we wait for the newest version to release until we can do this. Wish we'd seen more from the Inquiry/Identify/Driver Serial tabs to compare... so see if they're more complete than the Lizard.  

* Tested with X360USB PRO / VIA 6421 etc - Here's to hoping that stays true.

(DARKFiB3R pointed the version out kinda before I hit submit)

With this and a homemade probe for the 74850c, I'm wondering if there's even a reason for me to pick up the probe3.  Is there any advantage to having an official probe 3 when it is released?

It's pronounced, "poke my groin", huh? and that means what? Redundant waste of time? .Maybe i just don't understand why anyone would want to spend time and money looking for an xbox 1 to tear apart. We have a saying around here. Don't pole vault mouse turds. That logo is hilarious also. Grats.
