They seem to only know how to copy unlike guys like you that actually put a great deal of time and brain power into developing hacks.

No more unsafe than MRA, which 1000s of noobs and hard-headed kids have used to brick their LiteOns.

I am sure if you slip and hit the wrong spot then it will still be possible to brick the drives.

the mra method isn't unsafe.  doing something you have no clue how to do is unsafe.  for those of us who do know what we are doing, there is less that a 1% failure rate and our failures don't ruin the drive, u just dont get a mod.

Oh, so it's only "unsafe" in that sense? Cool.

People wanted a DIY method, and now that we have one, the "JF boys" are getting slated for it?

Aaaaanyway... Wonder if you can do this with a ca-42 cable?

Kudos for a DIY version being documented. It's only information after all, which most of us agree should be free.

I bet you were as miffed when the 079 CD was released too .... rolleyes.gif

I still haven't seen any explanation for how this method works. Does anyone know?

So this cap they want us to salvage from a original xbox is the same cap that always leaks and makes a mess on the motherboard. I think i am just going to a buy a new one. Too bad my electronics supplier is closed till Tuesday.
