Yes locks up when going to game on me too.

I will try the T3CH build tomorrow. I am going to re-compile it and try again. My Visual Studio locked up halfway through the compile process. I left it alone and then like 15 minutes later it started to go again.

Are you by any chance using the old UserData? That could be the problem too.

Well I was able to get into system settings (didn't try games though)
I didn't see anything for the "File Explorer or Scripts" either.

I just went though the blades pretty quickly and the first thing I tried doing was to remove the "MC360 Guide" After I did the box locked up. I rebooted and it locked up after about 5 seconds. So I rebooted again and in that 5 seconds. I went and re-enabled the guide. It showed up on the media blade, but still froze up. After yet another reboot, The Guide was back but it still froze up after 5 seconds. So I just re-installed the 666 version.

Sorry I don't have a log because I had a few people over and we were between games when I updated.
I'll try to get it tomorrow.

i've finally found it!

the perfect way for u guys to report bugs. this new method promises
- no bug has ever been resolved by reporting a bug this way (well, there was this one time but i still insist the reason was that the dev already knew the problem)
- full frustration from the devs
- it's very simple

it goes like this. you just put a report where it says

'there is a bug'

it's fantastic! you should really try it out!

The above bugs are all issues with Mc360 only.  Go bug them about it.

Switch to PM3 and they all disappear.

It has NOTHING to do with the XBMC team.

Great post spiff wink.gif

Reading about everybody's problems - havent installed yet. However, checking the blackbolt site theres a newer MC360 out. 0.97499 (as opposed to 0.97497 being contained within the XBMC build).

Why dont you guys shove that into the XBMC build and see if it might help? The comment about it off the site is:

'This is a new version based after the the on in the 11/06/06 T3CH Release, Changes include minor QTB fixes and the full screen extra blades should be fixed (completed)'

Could someone maybe try it and report back onto the forum? Want to keep my XBMC stable for a few nights while it undergoes heavy usage for music whilst i revise for exams.

regarding my programs.

seems a small bug slipped into the db update code. delete myprograms6.db and you should be fine.

are u sure?

you see, the problem is:

it sums the folder sizes to display that instead of the 0.1kb it used to display.
that has to be done once. but, in my update code it wasn't properly stored and hence it did it everytime. but if you delete the db, i'm 90% certain that it will save them correctly since it did so in all of my tests.

you can't be in my programs when u delete the db (obviously) and you cannot even have started my programs on the particular boot of xbmc (not so obvious), if not you won't be able to delete the database.

oh, and if it 'sucks ass' feel free to stop using xbmc.

you probably don't intend it, but have you ever thought of how it feels to get shit like that thrown at you every time you unitentionally make a mistake?  some diplomacy might be in place, no?

Well I got mine since 11.00pm 11th June GMT and I have not really had all the issues you guyz are talking about. I recently installed a 500GB HDD and have 350Gb worth of games. It did not hang when going to games or emulators or anything...Guess am just lucky mine works fine. I even tried the glass theme...and changed the fonts to use the original Xbox360 coz am running it at 720p.

i like the MC360 despite it being buggy am sure guyz are working hard to resolve them as for XBMC i just cant wait for the v2.0 release

Is that what caused XBMC to hang (well, it would endlessly say "Seeking") when scanning items to the database?

Wow.  How uppity of some of you.  Don't you think it's better that people ask about things here first to see if others can reproduce the same problem or give advice before filing a bug report?  Especially where some of the problems seem to be NOT related to XBMC, but the skin being used.  I'm sure the XBMC devs would love to get all the MC360 bug reports.

I asked the above question because since my current install is working fine, I see no need to upgrade every time a new build comes out.  If the above problem was not affected by the previously quoted fix, I will indeed file a bug report.  I just thought someone might be able to verify before I did so.

Now pull your panties out of your crack and relax.  Everything will be fine.

sandpaperback, i doubt that was the problem since it only affected the thumbloader and that isn't enabled during a scan.

your problems isn't general in nature, i can scan my 15k song collection without any problems. i suggest you try to find which file is the culprit - there is probably a broken tag somewhere.
