It's the quick solder pads. I assume the actual wire connections are good (they should be, they are very easy).

If you don't have most of the quick solder pads correct, you will either not be able to read the xbox nand, or write to it (depends on which ones are incorrect). If they are all correct, you should be able to read and write to the xbox nand.

Flash xell to the cygnos NAND, it should boot even without the KV.bin. If it does, then most probably your JTAG (wire) connections are good. Also, if you are installing with firmware 1.03, put diodes on all 3 of the jtag connections, anode up (top of mobo, other 2 spots short to each other).
