Maybe AXS can be turned into a members only thing? I am no programmer so I have no idea if its possible:

1. Member has to login
2. Member can download max 2-3 skins a day

Of course the dashboards would have to have a login possibility built in, so that you could enter your account stuff in the dash too for direct download.

That way apps like SKIN DOWNLOAD cannot use more than one account to download skins.

This is a TRUELY SAD DAY in the XBOX Scene. Seeing AXS go down because of such a stupid Tool that no one really needed in the first place.

to be fair...its a free world...if you want to make an app that downloads files from a web page that is your choice and you can do it.
but
i would have to say this app is fuct.
even if you dont like axs i bet you use it or used it all the time and then to make an app that still uses it but claims  to be the protester of axs?!
you are dissing the hand that feeds your app skins.
with out axs you have no app.
go ahead make it p2p then you wont be piggy backing a great site and bringing it down.

SKllZs isn't responsible for AXS being shut down.  Koldfuzion and Momdad are in control of that.


EDIT: although, perhaps his actions may have influence their decisions... it's still... their decisions...

Dam this shit really sucks cause AXS was a great site..
But i still think that something should be worked out.

and skillz you should have atleast asked the guys at AXS to see what they thought about your app and maybe it could have worked out better that way.

Real shame that some people have to abuse someone else's time and money and try turning it into a throwing sand in one's face type pissing match. I know there's tons of download managers, crawlers, spiders, etc. out there to leech things off sites, which in itself I think is abit greedy to the webmasters imho, but when you do it to someone in your own scene, you're cutting off your nose to spite your face. Hopefully those foolish ones in the community will think before they act next time and work with the dev's, webmasters, administrators and be pro-active about not stepping on anyones toes. I don't fault the webmasters of AXS at all about their feelings on the matter, nor don't fault them for taking down the website, as I'd hate to see my hardwork fooled with by someone who had no right, imho, to do it.

Yeah.. I just went there and downloaded a skin.. so I'd say that it's back up again... hey dragonforce... can you change the signature now.. to something like more appropriate, since AXS is back up now...
