no.

you probably could of saved yourself a few bucks and just got the regular solderless adapter, though.  you're not even going to need half of the stuff that comes with the sp.

You don't have to remove the solder, but it will make a better connection.  You also should have got the standard adapter for $4 instead of the $30 sp adapter since you will get NO benefit from the sp.  Btw, if you have enough skill to remove the solder from the lpc, you have more than enough skill to install the pin header and the alt d0.

we ncountered the same thing whilst modding a friends xbox, we just got a sewing needle made a little bend in the end, and just gently boared the solder away, not full but enough to give the pins a good connection, just make sure that you remove the bits of solder outta your xbox,  i used one of those little crappy vacuum cleaners you get from poundland

I also wouldn't recommend chipping away at an xbox!  You can very easily damage a trace if you slip.  Soldering irons were invented for a reason.

Theres still a spinning motor that can discharge static so thats not recommended.  BTW I read in another thread you said you only have 1 hand so I don't really expect you to be able to use an iron.  However a soldering iron is always the best way to go when possible that is.

yeah, it wouldnt be a prob but i dont like the idea of the lpc rebuild, the soldering next the chip on the mobo (dont know what its called) looks a bit fiddly and i just know i will end up soldering the pins together biggrin.gif
