X3 Flash Problem
« on: October 10, 2004, 08:22:00 AM »

IF I flash the X3 with an old X2 bios everything works OK. When I flash with new X3 bios 1859 all the lights work, the box acts like it is working but I get no video or audio.

Any Thoughts???

Yes and no. The first time I tried to flash it, it was plugged in how it always is with S-video and digital audio. After that I plugged in the original cable and booted, same thing. I have seen other posts asking if the person is using the original cable. Why does this make a difference?

The X3 bios has a problem with displaying 480p mode, which is what you get with component cables.  That's why you have to use the regular composite a/v cables supplied with the xbox.

This is what I just attempted. Plugged in the standard composite video connector and switches are set to off on off off off. Booted to backup flash bios and attempted to flash using x3 1859. Flash was successful. On reboot same problem...everything on the box appears OK but no video or audio.
