It should boot to the BIOS already flashed on the modchip, try cold booting with an EvoX bootdisk in the drive.

The BIOS is on your chip not the HDD so deleting C: wont affect it. Just make a Boot disk and FTP your backup across and you should be fine.

Man it still isn't working, I put the CD in, the CD had default.xbe and evox.ini and it still went to the error.

it is a fucking soft-mod, you need to somehow get that original dash back on your C-Drive. With a softmod (the kind that i believe you have) it loads a BIOS that is on your HDD, meaning it wont boot unsigned code until your other Dash loads. I have the question with the topic DeadBox that might recieve the answer both of us are looking for.

Relax it just did not read your disk thats all.
Easy way to do this is to burn a copy of Slayers 2.6 to CDRW or DVD-R preferably. rebuild the dash and all the apps from there. Don't give up after 1 disc not working.
Don't you wish there was "Restore xbox to an earlier time" on the screen.

The problem I think is possibly the chip has stopped working for some reason just to coincide with the dash problems As the box boots do you see any indication that the chip is working before the error eg evox shield Xecuter2 under the X as it boots?
The box should if the chip is working boot a boot disc or a backup game that is in the drive even with a totally blank hard drive (never formatted nothing).
So either the chip is no longer working as it should or the boot disc/media is not liked by your drive.
If you can try a back up that worked previously to confirm the chip is ok it would help.

The Slayers should extract to be an ISO which you burn to disc then boot with it in the drive and choose the option from the menu to reformat and re-install the M$ dash and all apps and evox.

Right the chip is working then.
Did you get hold of the image for the Slayers Autoinstaller? This is the next step to get an image of that burned to DVD-R or CDRW

Don't burn it on CD-R use CDRW or DVD-R. Booting results with CDR can be variable.
