this isn't working. If you have anybody that lives near you that can mod, you should burn the C:\ backup from your xbox onto a disk and bring it to someone. they can probably fix it. If you're in new york i can help otherwise check the forums it shouldn't be this hard to fix.

That's not true because you can boot a disc like Slayer's with a new/empty HDD attached.

we read and u dont. the dvd drive will boot off that without the hdd. if your using a hacked bios. it should still boot a retail game if ur in msdash but u cant since ur c:\ is gone

If he won't try other media, insists a file on the hDD is needed to boot a DVD boot disk, does not kn ow if the drive is locked, Thinks 1 disc that worked sometime before is the only thing he should try before he gives up on boot disks then....
There is no help other than hands on that will get through

Try another brand of disc preferably a DVD-R RitekG04 seem to work in everything
