im following the chefelf guide to networking and i have a router connected to comp. internet and xbox. i have dhcp and im trying to get it to network but it wont go. it shows that theres a connection in evox but doesn't show an ip. it did once but it didn't ping to it anyway. help lease

evox shows an ip but i cant ping to it or anythnig n it says static but im on dhcp please gimme some tips to find out the lan ip the router is giving to the xbox

have you tried changing the settings so that it doesn't use a static ip?  your router should take care of everything

edit: make sure you save and exit at the bottom

make sure any firewall is down and post the network settings of both your pc and xbox here

i turned off the firewall. i have a linksys befsr41 router and a optimum online modem. its a dhcp. i cant figure out the ip for the xbox yet. for my comp:

post the network settings of your xbox too.....if it says 0.0.0.0 for an ip, post that too

what on the evox page? or in the xenium os page? btw what shood the xenium os page be?

no evox is the main dash, i installed it with slayers 2.6.

itook pictures of the xenium os network screen and the evox network screen. how do i put pics up here if theyre not hosted anywhere?

i'm especially interested in the subnet, gateway, dns, & static yes/no
