Yes, it is a torx10 .  Out of all the xboxes I've modded, all of them used torx10 for the HD and DVD drive. Maybe you are using something different than torx10?

Is it too big, or too small?

Are you sure your using the Torx10?  It should have a 10 on the handle.

then again, if the one in your hand doesnt fit, you should try the other one just for the hell of it.

Idea: try a bigger torx driver.  Move up to the next size.  Maybe M$ is throwing you a curve.

Well I have a set of torx drivers, so I would have just gone to the next size.  I take it, you just bought what you needed?

Go get a set, they come in handy. You never know when you will need one.

My Xbox takes a T20 for the exterior case screws and I use a T-15 for the interior screws.

You mean the shaft of the screwdriver is too big to fit, right?  Just go to a hardware store and get an extension bit (or a longer T10-T15 bit).

No problem.  Just get the smallest solder you can (Radio Shack).  The smaller the better for that tricky d0.   cool.gif

There's both torx-10 & torx-15 inside the xbox isn't there. I'm sure I remeber using 3 sizes (obviously torx-20 for exterior screws).

Am I wrong?

I'm not sure.  I know I only used a T15 on the inside of my two boxes (v1.0 and v1.3).

Just FYI, I think it is a T10 for inside the Xbox.  I have a bit that says "T15" on it and it fits perfectly.  I just went out and got a longer T15 bit and it doesn't.  I returned it for another brand T15 and that doesn't fit either.  Perhaps my bit is mislabled which made me think that it takes a T15 when it's actually a T10.  Very odd.

What do they mean by "nuke your Xbox"?  It seems to me that what would happen if you used the wrong side is that it would just be too big or too small.  Not the end of the world.

I find it hard to see how you could 'nuke' your xbox by removing internal screws. Unless you did something drastic like scratched something with the driver. I hope no one did that...
