Bioses ca nsay whatever they like under the XBOX logo - MS, X2, marix, heck mine says Meurig. If you want to know if it's flashed properly try running some unsigned code (a 'lazy asses autoinstaller' for example). If this still doesn't work then there's a possibility you've actually got the official MS bios instead of an x2 bios - try changing the bios.bin file.
If you want you can even use xbtool to colour mod the bios before loading it, making it obvious that it's been flashed properly.
As for which point to use, the other day i got out my multimeter and had a good look, the bottom pair is indeed an EXACT COPY of one of the top pairs - it's true that if you stick a tiny wire through it doesn't line up, but there are circuit board traces joining the the pair you need to solder, to the pair of points hwere the wire would pop though. If you needed to solder the bottom pair, then you hadn't soldered the top properly - really.
That's not to say it isn't sometimes easier to flip the board over and do the bottom ones instead of re-doing the top, once you've had a few attempts you tend to get thi clear waxy coating on everything and it makes your life hell.
