Xenium Does Not Like My Controller
« on: February 29, 2004, 07:04:00 PM »

I have no idea why but my Xenium suddenly hates my favorite controller. Its an oldschool fatty. It has had no problems until today and I have no idea why. When the Xbox was off all I did was turn it on via the power button as usual and the Xeniums LED turned on Red, the Eject LED was flashing green, and the OS wouldnt go past the splash screen. Now, as soon as the controller dongle was removed the LED changed to blue, the flashing stopped, and it went to the menu. Now.. why the hell is it doing this? Its the same controller I have always used, nothings changed.

try taking the power out of the back of the console for 20 plus secs
disconnect the controller reconnect the controller and then the power then try booting see what happens....

I forgot to say put your right arm in... your right arm out... lol < not serious about this part

The purpose of that would be? I don't really see a point to what your saying. Its not just ANY controller that does this. The other two in my house will work but the Xenium just spazzes out on my phatty.

I have had a problem also...when I boot avalaunch after choosing  M7, and pop in PGR2 it acts as if my controller-s is in there, but not working... this happened like 2 times, all I had to do was unplug it and plug it back in....

I thought that the OS upgrade fixed controller problems ?

Judging by the OzXodus forums the controller problems have been fixed, there does seem to be the odd problem here and there that people are blaming on the Xenium. I'm starting to wonder if it's just some bad controllers.

I have installed lots of Xeniums now and haven't had reports of any controller problems.

I don't know what to suggest on this one!

I had an X2.1 lite in a modded box with no controller probs whatsoever.
Switched it to a Xenium... It would not boot with a mad catz controller. Unplugged the controller and used an original and had no problems.
Upgraded to 1.1 and no longer have that problem. All the controllers work.
It would have to be a Xenium problem.
