No that's not true.  Read the forums more, some X2 Bioses allow you to break the 137GB barrier.

I jsut want to know why mine won't.   laugh.gif

137-8=129

You need to go into slayers and format a G: drive.

Also, I have the X2 4977 bios.  Does this support HD's over 137GB?

Not unless you use xbtool, add in LBA-48 support and reflash.  Go with 4979.67 if you do not want to reformat F:.  4979.06 if you will.

I flashed all 4 banks of the 2.2 Lite with the 4977.  Can I just switch the switch to either Bank 1 or Bank 2 and just reflash that ONE bank w/ the 4979.67?  If so, how would I go about doing this?   I have the original Thomson "I hate CD-R" DVD-drive.  (I have games and stuff on my F: drive and I don't want to lose them.  )

Thanks.

Well, you can use flashx or evo x to flash your chip.  Then using evo x (I reccomend the slayers disk) you add a G: drive.  That way you keep the stuff on your F: drive, but many apps do not utilize the G: drive.

137-8=129 shows that your bios is capping off space at 137.

4977 is not LBA-48 without patching.
4979 comes patched

If I have a 160 gb drive, with 4979.06 I CAN have a drive bigger than 137 on F:. If I install 4979.69 then I can have 137 on F: then the rest on G:.
