Xbox Reboots, After Xbit Install
« on: December 05, 2004, 11:31:00 PM »

Hello,

xbox v1.0
x-bit v1.5
Xbox Pin header install
Bios X2 4981.06_256K

Bios installed fine with the xbit v1.5 win2k flash program.  No errors.

To make a long story short, the threading for the screw which is needed for the solderless install, was messed up and i couldnt screw it in.  So i tried to do a pinheader install.  First question, step 3 from http://www.dms3.com/...der_install.htm, do  all 12 pin on the xbit have to be soldered on to the xbox (for example, do i solder all the 12 pins from the xbit to the 12 pin headers on the xbox board?)?  I am seeing the following behaviour, when I plug in the xbox, and try to  power it up, the eject button flashes red and the xbox reboots.  It just keeps rebooting.   Is my xbox fried?  I didnt solder all the pins from the xbit chip to the pin headers on the xbox, is this the problem?

Any help is much appricated. I am a total noob!

Thanks,

marc
