I bought my copy of nba live 2006 and tried to back it up on my hd And i also get dirty disk error when starting from the hd any news on a patch yet Please keep us posted im the oldest of 7 and im not trying to buy 10 copies of this game so i can continue to play it.

you might want to clarify that, a the oldest of 4 i think you are referring to younger siblings tendency to destroy their elder siblings property, another moderator might assume you want to give each ember of your family thier own copy to use in their home (one is legal and the very point of making backups, the other is piracy)

let me rephrase im 26 my parents had 2 sets of twins in there old age they are 7 and 9 yrs old they get into my stuff all the time and bust my cds its only a matter of time before that happens with this game sorry for any misunderstanding

I'm having the same issue.  I copied mine to the hard drive last night and receive the "Dirty Disk" error when trying to load the backup directly from the drive.

As for reasoning, I back up all of my games in order to keep the disc in new condition as well as speed up the loading times.  Not to mention the fact that I've become far too lazy to get up and swap discs whenever I decide to spend a few minutes on a different game.

im having a similar problem with nba 2k6, i backed up the game to my hard disk, but i get only the menus ans stuff when i try to play any game mode the screen goes black, anyone has any idea on what this could be?? Thanks!

You're getting further than most of us.  I've seen several posts where gamers (like me) are getting a dirty disk or damaged disk error before the game loads.

I think this game requires a patch as I got the dirty disk error as well... :-/

I think that when the majority of gamers on here with issues have the same problem (this guy is the only one without the dirty disc error), that pretty much rules out the theory that:

a) all of our brand new discs are dirty

collectively, our hard drives have failed

c) again, collectively, our dvd drives are faulty

I hope that someone is working on a fix for this issue.  Don't get me wrong, I do understand the need to check certain things before calling it a full blown issue, but in this case, not getting the "dirty disc" error seems to be the exception.

NBA Live 06 working on HD CONFIRMED WITH THIS METHOD

get attach.xbe from XBINS -path is /XBOX/apps/filemanagers/driveimageutils/

edit the Game title of attach.xbe to nbalive06 use c-xbox tool or any other xbe title renamer. if you dont edit, the title of the game it will be ATTACHER VIRTUAL DISC.

Once that is done rename the attach.xbe to default.xbe

------>FTP THE FULL  nbalive06.ISO<--- and the default.xbe(renamed from attach.xbe) to the same folder.

--->only two files should be in the NBA live 06 folder:

nbalive06.iso and default.xbe

restart xbox

And it should work
