I think we're dealing with a protection of sort, because we won't all have dirty disks. So beyond chelelf what options are there?
It seems that every year as we approach the holiday shopping season there's a new copy protection. The scene first responds by making a patch for a particular game. Once more games come with the same type of protection, then the scene develops a patcher program designed to be very easy for all to use. A while later such protection overrides become a part of the new dashboard releases, and the protection is rendered useless for even the dumbest end user (like me), provided that said user downloads an occasional software update. Then the cycle begins again. This may be the last go-round of this little dance until Xbox 360.
Just wait for those that are smarter than you and I to figure it out.
