mine was locking up randomly when i first updated the dash too, but ever since i switched to using the default skin ive had no lock ups.. i have background music playing too.

Just an update.  I deleted the UnleashX Save File, but it still locked up.  I then upgraded to the new interim version (and again deleted the save file), but that locked up in the same manner also.
