My HD tv only ofers PIP support in VGA mode, and I heard that by using the VGA cable it will upscale DVD movies to 720p.

So I got myself a VGA cable and @#$@, its complete garbage looking at 1360x768 (or any of the other rez's).

My laptop or PC connected to the TV look razor sharp at 1366 x 768, Is there an update to get the xbox to support HDTV's via the VGA cable at 1366 x 768 ?

Any thoughts ?

You must have got a bad cable or something. VGA at 1366X768 looks incredible on my TV.

I don't think you understand my problem, my xbox console has no option/choice for 1366 X 768.

Is this the native resolution?
That may be why it looks like garbage.

Yes, sorry if I did not make my question very clear,
to summarize
My TV's native rez is not supported by the xbox 360
All HDTV's I had the option of buying were all 1366x768
So I guess, I want to know WhyTF the xbox does not support it ?
and if it can where is the patch to do so.

The Xbox 360 VGA Cable DOES support that resolution... and AFAIK it has since the begining.

Either your cable is bad or maybe you're missing a dash update (probably not the case if you're connected to LIVE or have played any recent games)

please re-check   i don't have 1366x768 and alot of LCD HDTV has that as max.

Umm... afaik vga cables have always supported that resolution. hahaha, maybe pal 360s are getting jipped! (sp?)

Well its not just PAL becuase my 360 "only" supports up to 1360x768, not 1366x768.

Ah well then , its annoying Ive wasted $20 on a useless VGA cable, but it look fabulous via the component cable so it's no great loss,
would be nice if M$ could add the 1366 rez support as an update, i'm keen to see the DVD playback improvment with upscaling via VGA.

There really should be a disclaimer on the VGA cable packaging, "Looks crap on a 1366x768 HDTV"

Yeah, due my dislexicness.. I could have swore everyone was biatchin about 1360x768.. which i know for a fact is supported. (I believe twisted made this silly mistake as well)

TVs at fault, not the xbox......it simply has a shit scaler that cant handle a 6pixel difference

I'ts a LA40R71BDX 40" Samsung $3.5KAU worth , And I tried it on my mates Sony Bravia 32" LCD and it still looks washed out and crappy. So I doubt it's the TV's fault
