Borked Samsung Drive
« on: October 04, 2007, 11:43:00 AM »

Hi all,
Sorry to bother you all, with this being my first post and everything, just got a quick question for you all. My samsung ms28 has died a sad death, and wont read any discs anymore, (still works as such, and tries to read the discs, it just cant, and returns a clean disc error) so i took a browse on to ebay to see what i could see, i have bought a drive off ebay, to replace my borked one, so the question is do i just take a rip of the existing fw on my samsung drive and flash the new one to it. my many thanks in advance to you all.

Sorry, forgot to mention the original drive is already flashed with ixtreme 1.2c.

Buy a laser for your faulty drive  from mrmodchip for £15, that's all you need . (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)  oops!
maybe should have asked before i bought!!
but since the new one is coming, i might as well put that in it.
but is it just as simple as placing my existing fw on to the new drive?
BTW i couldn't see the toshiba samsung replacement laser.
