« on: September 02, 2007, 05:02:00 PM »

XboxMediaCenter SVN rev10142 build of September 02nd 2007 compiled by T3CH

This is a complete snapshot of what was in SVN at the time the build was compiled, with just a few small additions:
   + Killarny & Nuka1195 & Pike's Apple Movie Trailers (AMT) SVN pre0.98.9 rev1435 [scripts: Apple Movie Trailers]
   + EnderW & Blittan's XBMCScripts Installer 1.8 SCRIPT [scripts: XBMCScripts]
   + Team XBMC Lyrics 1.5.5 rev1325 SCRIPT [scripts: XBMC Lyrics]
   + Asteron's Tetris 1.0 SCRIPT [scripts: Tetris]
   + Nuka1195's T3CH Downloader SCRIPT rev1450 [scripts: T3CH Downloader]
   + Codecs for mplayer [/system/players/mplayer/codecs/:*]
   + PM3 Red Theme + PM3 Blue Theme by Jezz_X

Special Note From T3CH:
QUOTE

* I'm including the >>XBMC Win32 PC environment<<.exe that is meant for skinners & python developers, read more about the concept here. It was built using Microsoft DirectX Summer 2004 SDK.
* I've tweaked the win32 >>run_me_first.bat<< so it runs and then unmounts the virtual drives when you exit.
* If you want to report bugs, please do it the PROPER way, see http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/index....oper_Bug_Report

NOTEWORTHY, XML and SCRIPT CHANGES IN THIS BUILD:
QUOTE

*  keymap.xml:

Here is the FULL changelog since the August 26th 2007 SVN Rev10100 Build (last one posted on xbins/xbox-scene):
QUOTE

2007-09-01  10142  updated: Czech Language Strings based on 10101 by ezechiel1917 updated: Polish Language Strings based on 10101 by NaPeK updated: Finnish Language Strings based on 10101 by mikko70 updated: Danish Language Strings based on 10101 by buchwaldsource
2007-09-01  10140  fixed: xbmc.reset did a powercycle instead of a reset.
2007-08-31  10138  fixed: pausing playback exiting to gui and returning to fullscreen would just render grey image with hq pixelshader v2
2007-08-31  10137  cosmetic
2007-08-31  10136  fixed: handle exceptions in libavformat more gracefully
2007-08-31  10135  fixed: after seeking to eof in dvdplayer, player would keep playing for a few seconds, then exit
2007-08-31  10134  added: dvdplayer can now abort stream reading that has stalled in ffmpeg url reading added: dvdplayer now supports pausing rtsp streams and resume again later if server supports it. (currently if you pause and server doesn't support it, we pause anyway so buffers will fill up and then loos streamed data) changed: dvdplayer is now default player for rtsp:// stream that doesn't end with .ra or .rm
2007-08-31  10131  changed: merge some more stuff back from linux branch for dvdplayer
2007-08-31  10129  changed: simplify include of rendermanager, handle difference in RenderManager.h instead
2007-08-31  10126  changed: improved the chunked reading in neptune abit
2007-08-30  10124  change: libcurl.dll updated to 7.16.14 version (http, ftp, shout..)
2007-08-30  10123  fixed: missing file
2007-08-30  10122  changed: combined msvcrt.dll and msvcr71.dll exports from xbmc, they should be binary compatable + we use the same emulation functions anyway. added: stub export for msvcr80.dll using same exports as msvcrt/msvcr71, more exports are probably needed to get it to work.
2007-08-30  10121  added: support for generating lastchange events for upnp renderer. (this can easily crash xbmc on xbox, so don't enable upnp renderer unless you use it). changed: allow upnp server to serve files through xbmc's normal filesystem. this allows xbmc to serve remote files (like on smb) to the client that only support http.
2007-08-30  10118  fixed: upnp client/server couldn't parse chunked server responses (Neptune's http reader didn't support it). Nero MediaHome uses this in it's responses.
2007-08-30  10117  added: system.progressbar infolabel that returns the current progress (0->100)
2007-08-30  10116  typo in previous commit
2007-08-30  10115  fixed: don't crash upnp client/server if we run out of sockets
2007-08-29  10114  fixed: dvdplayer would print odd time and total time on startup
2007-08-29  10113  changed: always announce upnp device every 7 seconds, even if we are attempting our psuevdo multicast mode on xbox (we can send, but not hear multicast)
2007-08-29  10109  fixed: didn't update episode counts during video library clean
2007-08-28  10106  updated: Swedish language file by blittan (based on english 10101)
2007-08-27  10101  fixed: elupus forgot the string for dvdautomenu feature

INSTALL NOTES from T3CH readme/nfo:
QUOTE

* APPLICATION INSTALL
- Fresh Install: Transfer _whole_ XBMC folder to your APPS folder (or where you want it).
- Upgrade: Backup the XBMC\UserData folder. Transfer whole XBMC folder to Xbox.  Overwrite UserData folder with your backed up copy.

* DASHBOARD INSTALL (SOFTMODS)
ARE NOT COVERED IN THIS README, SEE http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=406656

* DASHBOARD INSTALL
- Option 1. Team XBMC's shortcut tool.
It's included in the _tools folder as <<SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.xbe>> + <<SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.cfg>>.
Instructions here: http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/index....=As_a_Dashboard (Option 1).
Rename the <<SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.xbe>>+.cfg & also EDIT the .cfg so it matches your config.
See APPLICATION INSTALL above.
- Option 2. Thanks to an app called 'Team UIX's Xbe Shortcut Maker v1.0' by JbOnE, it's now easy...
Transfer contents of XBMC folder (this is VERY important since the tool is hardcoded) TO "E:\APPS\XBMC\". Rename <<SHORTCUT by TEAM UIX.xbe>> to something your bios can boot  (see http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/index....=As_a_Dashboard or read your BIOS README) and transfer to location your mod solution boots. No need to fiddle with HOME tag anymore,  and future upgrades you need not to worry about this file (unless you move XBMC).

* WIN32 PC ENVIRONMENT INSTRUCTIONS (WIN32 FOLDER)
Good to know, this requires DirectX9 Runtimes to be installed. Also this doesn't work with all graphics cards.
You need to:
- Copy XBMC_PC.exe & 'run_me_first.bat' from win32 to XBMC folder
- Run 'run_me_first.bat'
- Run XBMC_PC.exe

* UPGRADE TIPS
If you're updating from a VERY old/bad build you may get issues. Follow these simple rules:
- Replace (FTP OVERWRITE) all files in your XBMC folder with fresh ones from your new build
- Delete old settings (from UserData/guisettings.xml)
- In some rare cases some of the database files in UserData/Database/*.db may need manual deletion (usually if they are very old). Note: This loses all per file settings you made with the old build!

Smells like progress!!!

Question about the power cycle...  While I assume that "Reset" refers to simply restarting XBMC without reloading from the BIOS, what exactly is the difference between a "Reboot" and a "Power Cycle"?  In the EvoX dashboard for example, there are options for reboot and power cycle, although they both seem to simply reset the xbox...  Is there actually a difference in what occurs to the system?

Haven't tested the new build yet but technically a "reset" is like a soft reboot, like hitting the reset button on a computer, where the disk keeps spinning during the reboot.  A "power cycle" entails killing power to the system and then restoring power, also known as a hard reboot.

Looking good guys. A big thanks to all XBMC developers.

I think now might be a good time for me to see if MPEG2 Transport Stream playback is fixed, it was broken several revisions ago but I hardly ever use it since I got rid of my PVR so I never formally complained.

Just updated but this version seems to have trouble with running YouTube.
When playing the picture breaks up and freezes. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
But go back two builds and youtube runs fine.
Anyone else having this problem ?

youtube stopped working for me forever ago, idk if its because i have an old script but im using the latest i can find.

can anybody remedy the cache overflowing and stopping vids on tv links, maybe have an infinate cache and just set buffer amount?

also, would it be possible to record video streams as well as shoutcast, would be amazing to save tv links shows (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

thanks xbmc team for your amazing xbox app that keeps my xbox being used.

and many many thanks to t3ch for his/her weekly builds, really couldnt live without them!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/love.gif)

I haven't updated to this one yet, I'm on one that's two versions back, but for months, none of the movie trailers have worked for me.  Is there anything special you need to do for them to work?  The minimal/full thing appears to work fine, but nothing is ever viewable.

I have been going back to earlier builds to find one where both movie trailers and youtube will work.
Rev. 9731 ( July 30th T3CH Build )
Running this build they both work fine but after this and including this latest build there seems to be  a problem as both scripts seem unable to stream the video clips.
They either play back with the picture breaking up or just freeze.

Thanks for checking that.

For me, the playback doesn't even start.  A window appears, states something, then disappears.  I changed the setting to download instead of stream, and it appeared to download it, but when I check the location (f:\), there was no file there.  I also checked, and yes, f:\ is a valid path.
