I run XBMC at NTSC 16:9 (which I guess is 480i?) because it's the most memory efficient, and what can I say, I love the "flicker filter" and soften, and that is the last resolution those two work at. I don't really see the point at running the dashboard at such a high resolution when the xbox's limited memory really slows everything down, esp. if you're using MC360. I'll usu. run my videos in NTSC 16:9 as well since I watch a lot of standard definition, broadcast tv using xbmc as a set-top box. If I watch a movie I'll set the videos to 1080i tho (IMG:

MS was really ahead of the game in high-def with the original xbox, it rocks
1080i slowdowns are only with the interface, watching movies is great. Of course that's only for upconverting, if it's 1080 native there's no way it's going to work..
.
Exactly!!!!
Anyone got any suggestions on reformatting a native 1080i HD-WMV? I have noticed just a hint of choppiness when upscaling from 720p to 1080i on some divx movies. So should I convert it to 720p and play it with xbmc at 720p...or should i make it a little smaller and use xbmc to upscale it to 1080i? I'm gonna experiment, but any suggestions would be appreciated cuz I'm an HD noob:D

LMAO (IMG:

Nice way to show off though. Haha BTW I was running mines on 720p and God knows, it was looking nice and sexy. Ill try 1080i tomorrow when I revive my v 1.0 baby (IMG:

Maybe we should have a thread titled "Show me your HDTV Set". Sure would be nice. Im seriously thinking about it.
The size of the T.V. has a big effect on what each resolution will look like...it's not bragging...it's giving detail to make a better comparison.
I'm running xbmc @ 480i cuz it looks great and runs much smoother with PMIII. 720p worked fine too though, but 1080i caused some minor issues and is just overkill for a dashboard IMO.
Movies are upscaled to 1080i, for now, on an out-dated 60in Toshiba rear projection.
I can't believe I waited so long to buy those monster cables. I found both the "gamelink 400x" component video and the "lightwave 100x" optical cables for a grand total of $30 brand new on Ebay Express (2-day shipping included). I highly recommend those 2 cables, just make sure you have an optical input on your stereo before you buy the "lightwave 100x". The picture and sound are both amazing!
Sorry for the long-winded post...TOO MUCH COFFEE (IMG:
