I have let this application run through 100's of cycles and millions of keys.  What is the half-life for getting a crack?  It checks about 3800 keys per second.

Also it doesn't seem to ever keep track of its progress.  Each time I run it, the application seems to start from scratch again.  Shouldn't it write a checkpoint every 100 cycles (4,000,000 keys) or so?   Then when it restarts, it doesn't have to start from ground zero again.

Has this application actually worked for anyone?

It doesn't start from zero.  The records of keys that have been checked is still stored in rsa_send.dat, but the program only tracks keys checked per session.  Also, if we were to check every key possible, and if it were the last key, it would take approximately 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 years.

The premise is that we'll crack the key on pure lottery luck.

I don't think "half-life" would be the correct term.
