1080i Or 720p Scaling For Dvd Playback
« on: January 04, 2003, 11:42:00 PM »

the default xbox dvd player thing will do it if you follow this:

Open xboxdash.xbe in an hex editor
search for : C7 46 28 20 00 00 00
replace by : C7 46 28 40 00 00 00 ==your Dash is now in progressive mode only
replace by : C7 46 28 00 00 00 00 ==your Dash is now in autoselection mode (does whatever is chosen in the video settings)
Tested on a 3944 dash.
Enjoy !!!

this does not answer the question.

the patch does dont scale to 720p or 1080i! it only outputs 480p.

Morbid, if you find software that does this, please let me know.  As of now, i know of nothing.

Why would you want to upconvert 480p to 720p or 1080i? Makes no sense. Even moreso since even if this was possible the xbox will no doubt do a bad job upconverting the 480p and rescaling/refiltering the display (this is why professional upconverters start at around $1000).
