yes, people have done the 128mb ram upgrade.  Check the BST thread to see if anyone is selling any ram, and also do a search on ram upgrade, or 128mb ram.  I don't have any links at the moment.

My box runs without a glitch at the moment, will upgrading to 128MB of RAM even yield an increase in performance? Like shorter load times or something?

Ram is very complicated to install and you won't see very many improvments. no shorter load times. cannot be done on a 1.6 and can sometimes cause your xbox to crash
