When i insert a cd or a dvd, shouldnt i be able to see it when tring to install a bios via the flash method.I mean in the list of drives shouldnt i be able to see it? I can see nothing even when i insert a games dvd. Nor can i see anything when i use a pendrive on the usb adapter. Am i missing something here cuz according to all the guides it should be listed there somewhere.

Im probably just being dumb but untill i get this sorted out i cant really do anything further with my xbox modifications.

I think XOS will only read CDs with an ISO9660 file system (ie not a game disc)

Also, I presume you'd have to have a dvd drive which *can* read cds

double check your pen drive.  Didn't recognize mine at first, then I rebooted with it in and it worked.

Theres no such thing as a + or - cdrw.  Only dvds have + and - standards.  Cdrws are just cdrws.

ROFLMAO, find me a cd+r and a cd-r and I'll give you everything I own.  + and - only refer to the dvd standards, I believe one is designed by phillips and the other I don't remember.  So, yes I am saying "no cd's come in + or -" and that IS right.

I would recommend getting the appr hardware to use FTP or SMB. It is easy to use and decently fast.
