Xbox Disk Drive Swap Question

Hello all. Quick question. My xbox disk drive(Sorry, I'm new to this system.. it is DVD correct?) won't read games anymore. It is intact and not modded. If I buy an Xbox dvdrom drive(the one that comes with the system) from someone parting out a system, can I just swap the drives without issue?
