The <nickname> tag is in your mxm.xml not menu.xml. Edit/create your <nickname> tag in the mxm.xml file and you should be good to go.

Sorry meant mxm.xml...removed nick from there..no change...erased <tag> no change

If you want the nickname blank, why not just add <nickname> </nickname>

The xbox stores the last known high score or nickname in a savefile in your e drive. So simply deleting the nickname tag from your mxm.xml won't remove your nickname from the xbox memory.

Just rethinking this now....I tried erasing the name within the tags to no avail also...kept the name....I had reset menu cache and everything...may go looking for the save and erase it..
