"The Voodoo 5 6000 was, as I remember, the most anticipated piece of 3D gaming hardware in history. Can you imagine four VSA-100 graphics chips with 128MB of RAM dedicated to rendering? Apparently only 50 were produced, with only a third of those functional. Only a few made it out of the engineering department before the downfall of 3dfx. Quantum 3D picked up the rights to the technology, and decided to bury it from the gaming world. I remember contacting a sales rep from Quantum 3D, asking about the possibility of purchasing a V56K. He scoffed at me saying, "Sure, you got $15,000 USD?"
