kinda like a server rack except its round and its xbox's u could use it to host a major lan party, put that thing in the middle of ur house,  a few hundred tvs and couple of (million) feet of cables and ur set

imo not worth to do it, 360 here soon, but if u want to go ahead

Why on earth would you need 320 gb in each xbox?  All you're going to use it for is Halo...get the smallest hdd you can fit the DVD onto, and you're set.

Yeah this project is fairly easy to do it's just a huge time hog. If it's just one person working on it it'll likely take about a month to fab everything correctly if that’s all they did. This wouldn't be something too hard for me to pull off, but the logistics involved to make it work would just plain suck. Anyone willing to take on this project would be doing at as a kind of "out of love" doing it thing of which your likely to get since that usually means people do it for themselves and the other group (which fall under the first group allot) which fall under the "trade" worker would charge you a bare minimum $15k bare minimum over the cost of materials & time spent.

Plus on another subject just powering the system would be enormous and require four different circuits so as to not overload the breaker. Of which that’s still ignoring the 16 projectors/TVs needed and their usually even higher energy requirements. Plus your going from 1 Xbox or so with parts that have a fairly low chance of failing to 16 which given the terms of "acceptable failure" will guarantee 1-4 will fail in some way or another if you get a best case scenario plus all the extra crap which WILL fail at some point soon after it's done. It's a great idea, but there are quite a few hurdles you've got to be cautious of. If you want some help with how to make it happen feel free to shoot me a msg. I can never look away from a good train-wreck.

Oh and whoever said you should think about using iPod HDs should be promptly taken outback and their privileges to mod be taken away. An iPod HD would never last longer than 6 months best case (3 months realistically). Those HDs ability to read/write are way the hell below what an Xbox would ever need. They make great MP3 players and good & easy file movers but horrible for frequent read/writes.

I've done a lot of working with Xboxes with no dvd drives, and 2.5" hard drives (see the battery powered xbox project in my sig). It can be finicky and sometimes frustrating, but the reward is very small size and low power cunsumption (xbox mobo+2.5" 80gb hdd+7 inch TFT LCD screen+speakers = 50-60 watts, @ 12VDC)

So far I am the only person to have an xbox that runs on its own internal battery pack.

I like the idea for the project, very original and bold, kinda like when i said "wouldn't it be cool to play xbox anywhere, even if there isn't an outlet" almost a year ago.

I would very much like to contribute to the project.

I work part time at a hobby shop, mod xboxes as a side business, and Im in my fourth year of engineering and design in high school (along with AP Calculus and AP Physics), and plan to major in mechanical or electrical engineering in college.

I have started on the case - it will be all Plexy/Acrilic with Aluminium Accents and Heat sinks.

I decided to go with my origional design (The one in the middle)

If anyone knows where to get tubes (hollow cylinders) in 10inch, and 30inch
diameters plese let me know.

Just a quick update - that's all.
