wow iv really been away for a while... is XBReboot and FreeBoot like softmods for the 360?. Atleast thats what it looks like from the videos i have seen..

Of course you can't play this on live, unless both of you guys have the same map. So only way to play on live with someone else is if they have the same map, so no you can't go into matchmaking and cheat.

Also the post clearly says don't use this on live.. If I have the decency to share this, why can't people keep to themselves and keep Xbox Live clean?

Well then you're either not opening the right XEX, or it's not clean in the ISO, or you're editing it somehow once extracted. It checks if it's clean by doing a SHA1 check over it, and comparing hashes.

freeBOOT/XBR reboot in 8955 ... the latest dash, so no upgrade needed. But there are MANY ways for MS to detect a homebrew 360, so it WILL get you banned.

Howdy. I understand for the need for Live to be clean, cheat free and all that. This is a side question in regards to homebrewed 360 going on Live.

Running the dash in virtual mode dont we have full control over how it presents to the network? Can we not spoof machine Id's, Keys etc. making any semblence of banning for M$ a moot point? This assuming the homebrew console cannot look 100% legit to start with.

I know this is a dangerous area to explore, and Live integrity must be protected by the scene - but technically is it not possible to acheive Live + Homebrew? Are we the end users possibly just being fed a line to maintain order and to keep the spotlight off the scene?

Microsoft can execute code remotely on the xbox, I think it could tell the hyper visor isn't running.

Been waiting on this since king kong hack. Finally its here. AMAZING! modding halo is so amazingly fun, live or not, just having some friends over and playing modded halo, really fun.

I was just wondering if anyone knows if any modding programs are out? like dothalo or something like that. Or any kind of tutorial on how to mod without modding tools. I take it that it would have to do alot with hex edit. Just wondering how that works and/or if there are any tools to make that easier.

This is a build with the possibility to ignore XEX hash checks to see if the executable is dirty. If you check this however, it will show all possible patches(Halo 3 and ODST), and you must select the appropriate one for the XEX you provided.
