Media Sharing With Wmp11

trying to get the 360 to see the pc and vice versa, but my belkin router always gives them the same IP address (192.168.2.2), so as far as i can see it cant work. tried moving my DHCP range so it starts at 192.168.2.3, but it  then gives them both that address!! i have the necessary ports open, and tried a fresh installation of wmp11. 360 cant get to xboxlive if i use static address, and the pc doesnt seem to get on the internet with a static IP either, so i'd really like to get this working with DHCP.

Im not doing anything unusual with the router, and its only the pc and xbox connected to it. any ideas? sorry if im barking up the wrong tree

1. DHCP is screwed up on your Belkin router.
2. With a working internet connection, do an IPCONFIG /ALL, make a note of your IP, subnet, gateway, and DNS servers.  Then set them all statically in Windows.  Done deal.
