Old Xbox Controller To Xbox 360?

SO, I want to do a controller swap from the old xbox to the 360...I like the BIG controller and wish to swap...I followed an old faq to convert  the old xbox controller to usb which is just pretty much matching usb wire to xbox wire avoiding the yellow one...so what I have now is a old xbox dongle with usb on the end...but it doesnt work with the 360! I attached a mad catz( old xbox ) to the dongle and hit the led "macro" button and it lit up...but nothing else when other buttons were mashed... IS THIS CONVERSION AT ALL POSSIBLE??? I want my old controller back!

No not possible.  If they can't make money off of accessories then they wouldn't make money

another person not hating on the big xbox controllers. twistedsymphony was able to mod a jap saturn controller wireless to be used with the 360. i dont have the link to his post but you can look for it. i dont know if its possible but thats a start.
