1080p On Monitor
« on: January 18, 2009, 12:32:00 PM »

Im looking into buying a new pc monitor and I want one that will be able to run 1080p off of my xbox 360. Currently my 360 is the one without the hdmi connector so im wondering if I can get true 1080p out of my vga cable to my monitor if i get a monitor that supports 1080p like this one...

Any help and clarification would be greatly appreciated.

that monitor does not support 1080P

it supports 1050P

the microsoft VGA cable will allow the xbox to set it at 1050

That monitor's resolution is 1680x1050 (as with almost all 22" monitors), it can *accept* a 1080p signal, but it can't output at 1080p, so the required pixels...do not exist on said monitor. That monitor also has some pretty shitty review, those most to of the reviews are from morons who think they're running their PS3s at 1080p. Who cares anyway, there are only 3 Xbox 360 games that run in 1080p anyway.
