Since you asked about the quality of the units, the plasma is an EDTV: it accepts a HDTV signal but downconverts it into what it can handle. You'll get a higher-quality image from the LCD TV, as it apparently supports a 720p signal natively (which is what all 360 games are required to support).

IMO, you're better off going for the cash and buying a TV you like. You can get a 30" widescreen CRT HDTV for under $1,000.

But your best option is probably just to try to get a TV legitimately, as you'll easily tick off a lot of people by posting referral links. (Yes, I know you didn't, but still...)

I know you're just interested in the site... but you get your thread closed and a warning... not flames...
