About To Install Cygnos V2 On A 16mb Jasper.
« on: January 03, 2010, 07:43:00 AM »

you need to use switching diods for jasper not resisters if you haven't installed it yet i would suggest using xbr as its simple easier and more supported and sell your cygnos

diagram

but if you are keeping the cygnos i am not shore as i have not done it but i think jtag is part of the x1-7 points on the cygnos

Actually it turns out you don't need the resistors at all.
Basically you install the Cygnos without the jtag points connected, flash it to ver 1.03 firmware and *then* connect the jtag points without using resistors or diodes.

Can you post your pics of the mod?

I only put it all back together last night, I didn't take any pictures.

But basically you just solder in the Cygnos V2 and hook up *all* of the wires on the bottom but not the ones on the top. I then flashed the Cygnos with ver 1.02 and then 1.03 firmware, and then just hooked up the top motherboard wires directly without resistors or diodes. I then threw a 320GB drive in my old 20GB drive enclosure and formatted it and can use all 320GB - excellent.

I'm hoping to find another exploitable box, will take photos when I do that one.
