007 Auf Raincoat Exploit
« on: April 02, 2004, 12:56:00 PM »

Ok, i just flashed my first tsop, was as easy as most of the girls at my highschool.  And i'm going to start flashing tsop's for my friends, and i have a question.  Ok, what i want to do is inside of the "E:\UDATA\4541000d/000000000000/raincoat" folder put 2 different bios's in there.  So that incase my friends xbox is a 1.0-1.1 i can just choose 'bios1.bin" and if their xbox is a 1.2-1.5 i can just choose to flash it with "bios256.bin" that way i dont have to keep on switching bios's on the memory card and what not.  Will this work or does the bios file HAVE TO BE NAMED "bios.bin"?? Thanks in advanced!  <

it works fine regardless of what you name the file

however, if you use raincoat .7 it will resize a 256k bios, so you dont need 2 files (you can instaed have a bios_blue.bin bios_red.bin or soemthing liek that)  <

Why should you make sure to use the 007 evox hack for 1.0 and 1.2 versions.  I hadn't read that one yet.  <

Lordvader's right, use raincoat 0.7 and it will resize a 256k BIOS to a 1MB TSOP, and filename doesn't matter.  <

because 1.0s and 1.1s have 1mb TSOPs, and if you use (an old version of) raincoat and flash a 256k bios it will frag

however, if you are careful to always use the right size it doesnt matter

also, if you use raincoat .7 it will resize regardless, so its all good  <

Thanks for the response's guys! But let me get this straight. If i upgrade to raincoat .7 and put in a 256k bios in the "raincoat" folder, if its a 1.0 or 1.1 it will automatically resize it to a 1 meg bios? Thats pretty cool. I think that i upgraded the 007withraincoat.zip to raincoat .7.  But i want to make sure.  Ok, i extracted everything in the 007savewithraincoat.zip to a folder.  It made all those other folders (UDATA ect.) and then i downloaded 007_raincoat_0.7_2.20.04_andy_and_eXOBeX and just overwrote the default.xbe, root, and raincoat folders that are in the "000000000000" folder with the one from 007_raincoat_0.7_2.20.04_andy_and_eXOBeX.  So that should be updated from .5 to .7 correct?  And so it doesnt matter what the "bios.bin" is named, so i could have two different bios.bin files in the raincoat folder?  Thanks in advanced!  <

right, if you have a bios names, say, bios256.bin you would type the command

./ raincoat -p bios256.bin  <

Thanks for all your help lordvader129.  I was just experimenting with raincoat .7 and a 256k bios named bios256k.bin and i reflashed my other v1.0 xbox and i typed in ./raincoat -p bios256k.bin and it resized it to a 1 meg and worked like a charm  :D I use to like installing modchips, but tsop flashing is just SO MUCH FUN! lol.  I'm going to flash everyone of my friends xbox's! Thanks for your help guys!  <
