Could it be that some games don't run with Zsnesxbox?

Everytime I want to run Super Mario RPG, Zsnesxbox freezes and I have to reset my Xbox.

Sounds like you have a problem with your ROM. Super Mario RPG runs quite well in ZsnexBox.

@Foe Hammer

What resolution are the screenshots (512x448)? Or bigger? What skin are you using? Does it happen everytime or just sometimes? How much RAM is left in 720p/1080i after the first game is exited and/or the first game is run?

I have to agree since I actually finished it on one of the early zsnexbox version. The first version that had cheat search tongue.gif

hook up a cross link cable from your pc to your xbox and establish an ftp connection.

burn it into a cd or what???
thats possible too, IF your xbox reads cdr's otherwise its dvdr's or ftp.
i suggest going the ftp route though, so much easier to change stuff in the long run.

plz let me know in details...
we have faqs somewhere around here, i believe the newbie section has ftp/cd burning faqs.

not gonna work on 360.

Nice work, nes6502!

FYI with Zsnexbox 3.0 till present, if higher res screenshots 512x are used on any snes rom in HDTV resolutions (720p and 1080i) it will lock up the emu with a loud accompaning buzz.  Only the smaller res screenshot 256x can be used, and even then some of the larger roms can lock up the emu.  This is all of course due to RAM running out.  Just thought i'd mention that if you were unaware of it.  I went through and captured the lower res screenshots for all my favorate roms, so no real worries. smile.gif

Well, I'm getting an HD tv today so hopefully I can come up with something to free more memory. I finally get to see ZsnexBox in all it's 1080i glory.

riddle me this nesman,

How come if I start Donkey Kong Country 2 with the volume on 100% and wait for the music to start up, if I turn the volume down all the way to 0%, I can still hear part of the music. If I reset the game, with the volume remaining on 0%, it behaves normally and doesn't make any noise. It's frivilous of course but my I can't even imagine how it would do that.

I'm not sure. My first guess would be an issue with ZSNES. Since all I do is allow the user to control the built in volume control that is in ZSNES. I don't actually decrease the volume. I tell ZSNES to decrease what it is outputing to me.

On another note. After experiencing ZsnexBox (and all of Xports emulators) in 1080i, I can't beleive what i've been missing in picture quality. However, I have found several things that must annoy HD users in 720p and 1080i in ZsnexBox. Not the least of which is that it runs out of memory almost every time by the second or 3rd game. 1080i is literally a one game shot and there's no more RAm to load a second game. I also realized the GUI takes a while to setup in these modes and even at the biggest font I provide, it's still too small to read for my taste. Expect all of these issues to addressed sometime in the future.

Nes,

It's wonderful to be able to read faqs and walkthroughs
right inside Zsnexbox. Matter of fact this was something
I was eager to see someone developing, but my wishes
were for a XBMC script able to browse directly inside
GameFaqs.com, just like the YouTube script when searchs
for video.

My question (I haven't get it yet) - While reading faqs, can
I change the background color to BLACK and letters to white?
I am afraid of burn-in effect on my screen!

Cheers,
Cospefogo.

I can't get a third or fourth controller to work with zsnexbox.  Is anybody else having the same problem?  I tried to play smash tennis w/ 3 players and it wouldn't work.  I made sure I had the 3-4 players on in the options menu.

I know this is going to sound like a crazy idea, but can the code be reverted for use on the PC? Zsnexbox seems to be the only emulator that can run BS-Zelda flawlessly (While the PC emus struggle).

Just curious.

This is what ZsnexBox is using:

This is one of the reasons I have stayed with version 2.99b1.  Running in 720p it does not have any of the crashes that 3.0 on up have.  Give that version a try and see if maybe an answer comes from there.  Haven't had a single memory related crash yet from taht version.

Ok. Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to  check all that I've added since then.

Does anybody happen to remember the guy that posted those cool ZsnexBox icons a few months(?) back. I want to use them but can't seem to find the thread anymore.
