Matrix Modchip On 1.6 Help...
« on: October 20, 2004, 04:48:00 PM »

Hi guys,

Ive been trying to get this thing going for a while now but still no dice. the xbox frags every time.

Below are pictures of my setup.

This is the LPC rebuild. The wire you see that goes thru the hole is grounded on the topside of the hole. I was told to do this.

This is the topside of the board, with the U7C1 trace cut and the wire soldered to pin 7 of the LPC port

And this is the matrix chip. I have removed pin 7 and D0

If anyone can see any problems please let me know! thanks

Unsoler pin 7 and ground that wire.  I don't know about that other wire you grounded let me check......Ok that wire you have grounded already just remove it from ground.

So in short you did this
This is the topside of the board, with the U7C1 trace cut and the wire soldered to pin 7 of the LPC port

And I am saying you shoud have done this
This is the topside of the board, with the U7C1 trace cut and the wire soldered to ground

The extra wire you grounded shoud be removed and see if it works now.

The trace cut and pin 7 is for a cheap mode on a 1.5 mother board.

still no go. it still frags.

I used a voltmeter to test a connection between the LPC port and the casing ground

every pin except 1 and 3 beeped to signify a connection.

is this normal?

Well that is not what it is supposta do.  I just wonder why it is doing that.  Did you remove that wire you grounded and did not know why you did.  I am guessing that something is wrong with something.  Please double check you solder points atain remove the u7c1 ground and see if they are still grounded.  If they are then I would chekc the wires you solered.  they all look good to me and I can not see what wire would be grouned.
