I don't know about other dashboards, but I use UnleashX, go to system/misc/format menu (i think, but in the end, look for the format menu)  Password is either Xbox or xbox, choose format G drive, and then in the system/settings/memory menu, select enable G drive.

Bear in mind that's just for UnleashX.  Anything else, can't help ya.

If the things that they have told you do not work, then get a bios that supports LBA48, or drives larger than 137 gb.  This seems to be your problem, as you should not "lose" 20 gig of space.

ok. i flashed evox M8+ with "partition 6 takes up to 137mb/partition7 takes the rest"

evox.ini - enable g drive "yes"
i tried to format g:\ with evoxdash
i can see the g:\ but there's nothing on it and i can't copy any thing on it.

XBMC 01/01/2006 CVS build says i have 131gb. (it add's everything even the X/Y/Z)
my HDD IS a 160gb. i don't understand were the 30gb are?
i know i have some bad files i can't delete, but they couldn't add up to 30gb.

any ideas??

Could it be the MuppetX Chip, which is a little outdated?

Chip should be totally irrelevant. All it does is hold a bios.

Correct.  AID is just an UnleashX bootdisc.  Slayers' is just an Evox bootdisc.

You can format partitions through RAW FTP commands also.  However, I've never had a problem with Evox's formatting abilities, though I prefer UnleashX as a disc-based tool (for cache clearing, installs, etc.).

If you don't want to bother with a full auto-install package, perhaps consider making a quickie UnleashX bootdisc with some format commands on it (examples can be provided), IF you feel in the end that the formatting is the issue, and not the bios.

HOWEVER, my honest advice:  The MuppetX can hold 2x152 bioses, so I would seriously consider using an X2 bios.  Better IGR, easier to edit, better pretty much everything.  You aren't limited to the Evox M8 bioses anymore, even if you have a 1.6/1.6b motherboard since the X2.50xx series came out.
