     i dont think its the nic port on the xbox because it worked on live for like 3 months before i modded it. the xbox is recognized on t he router. it says on it patch cable and i've learned t hat means straight-through. i can falsh another hacked bios, which one do you reccomend. ive noticed when i launch avalaunch as an app it says on the bottom right hand "no link!"

Chips can fail at any time. Not saying thats it, but you never know. Do you have link lights on the router and xbox? Like I said before you also need to try another cable. As for BIOS, it depends on your xbox version. I use the x2 4981 and evox M8+(for v1.6). And I highly doubt live blocking has anything to do with not being able to ping. Im curious though set the xenium OS back to dynamic, "restart the network" and let it pick up an IP from the router then try to ping from the pc again. Let me know.

i can do everything else with the chip. this is the only function i cant.i use 4981 also. im in the os screen and ill put it on dynamic and hit restart. hold on

it says natwrok failed to restart. the info i have in the xenium os network screen is
using dynamic ip
ip: 192.168.1.101
netmask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS: 167.206.3.140

the lights on the router and the xbox port is on.  im contacting linksys for help. is it ok if i say i have a modded xbox and i'm trying to ftp or should i say im trying to use live?

Im not talking about your modchip, im talking about your ethernet controller chip that resides on the xbox MB. While booted into the xenium OS, try to ping 192.168.1.101 from the pc and post back. (but make sure your pc IP is still 192.168.1.100)

I have asked you twice to try another cabe. Have you done it yet? Just because you have link lights doesn't necessarily mean data will flow through the cable. And what about my suggestion to hook the pc straight up to the xbox via crossover cable. Have you tried that yet?
