I finished soft modding my xbox today everything was working good I used the Soft Mod Installer Deluxe. I put in one of my burnt games and in the tray panel it said unknown, then i put a burnt dvd in and it said the same.. unknown i pressed play media in cd drive and it didnt play, my other xbox is soft modded and it has a thompson drive and doesnt have this problem. Is it my samsung drive?

Are you using +R media?

Dont know what that means does that meen +R disk, if so then ya but it shouldnt be the problem because they work on my hard modded xbox

Could it be that my soft mod does not have the bios, i dont know if when i install the soft mod it comes with the bios or do i need to put the bios in the xbox manually?

Ya my hard modded xbox doesnt have a samsung drive it has a thompson, so is that the problem its the samsung drive or the bios problem cus i thought that when you installed the soft mod the bios came with it, or do I have to download the bios then ftp it into the xbox?

So bassically all it is, is the samsung drive that cannot read R+ disk's right?

I dont have a burner that does DVD+R so Ive never experimented with it. But I know you can edit the bit settings when you burn to make it compatible with the Sammy drive. I'm sure if you search, (The game backup section to be precise) youll find your answer.

I know this is a really dumb question but I am a noob what is the bit settings, and so your saying that I canchange the settings on my burner so that the samsung drive can read R+ blank dvd's right?

the end all dvd media thread. Just find booktype setting in nero and change it to DVD rom and it SHOULD work. Also, feel free to read the really long thread above.

I have benq 8x 4.7 gb blank dvd disk those are not on the topic

On the disk, does it say "DVD+R" or "DVD-R"

Rylinkus do you have a samsung dvd drive on your xbox and if you do does it play the -R blank dvd's properly
