I have been searching for somone to put a new hard drive and a chip into my xbox. I found a place that will do exactly what awant which is playing xbox with no disks. meaning just copying games directly to the hard drive. They put in the new aladin chip and a 120 gb hard drive and all the software i need. Including the evo-x dashboard. is 280 dollars a good price for that?

are u freakin kiddin me buddy? 280 bones for a a install service? with that money u can buy a new tsop flashed premod with 120gb. dont let any wannabe companies from the internet do the installation. let somebody from the forum do it, it's alot cheaper.

Yeah, or you could just buy the stuff and do it yourself.  I am no expert at soldering so I got an XBIT, easily installed with no solder for about 50 bucks.  Hard drive was 90 from new egg.  Figured out how to do most of the stuff from reading and yes it took a little work, but it was only about two days until my system was up and running with all the new stuff.  Definately worth saving your money and doing it yourself.
