Basically you can setup the [Network] Section of your evox.ini to look like this:
[Network]
SetupNetwork = Yes
StaticIP = Yes
Ip = 192.168.0.3
Subnetmask = 255.255.255.0
Defaultgateway =
DNS1 = 0.0.0.0
DNS2 = 0.0.0.0
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 8:

       Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . :
       Description . . . . . . . . . . . : VIA Rhine III Fast Ethernet Adapter
       Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-40-F4-5F-51-36
       Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
       IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.2
       Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
       Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :

for the default gateway in the evox.ini put the PC's NIC IP which in your case is 192.168.0.2

so xbox setup
ip: 192.168.0.3
subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.0.2

see if that helps any.

yeah on your internet props make sure the gateway is the same as your ip the 192.168.0.3  I just went through all this myself.  Also dont turn on your xbox until you have your properties configured on your computer.  Make sure in the system setting on the xbox it says everything you just posted, ie. static xbox ip is .0.3 and default is.0.2  After you have it configured in you computer then turn on the xbox, for some reason mine wont work unless i turn the xbox on last!!  GOOD LUCK!!

did you try what i said, even after you set up your computer to 192.168.0.2 then restart it, make sure its a good crossover cable too.  If its bad then under system setting it will say no link!!  Try one more thing, go to you run command and in the dos prompt type ping 192.168.0.3 and if it receives it you know your connected its just flashftp being finicky

Macc,

can you ping your xbox from your PC?

start - run - cmd

type:  ping 192.168.0.3

you should get a reply back...

if you get a Request timed out. message then you need to check that your cable is not faulty..

if you are still getting errors you might want to connect the system up and then restart your xbox, then try to ping the system again, as the networking side of the unit is a bit pedantic.

i was having similar problem like macc today after i installed the latest evox cause i wanted to try out the new trainer support
man major headache, but that fixed it up
thanx man

btw macc if you want to see if your pc is even communicating witht he xbox then try to set the same ip on the xbox as the pc and it should give you an error saying that the ip cant be shared
i know useless tip but heck atleast then you know nothing is broken

macc, cable everything up, set all the ip's and crap and do two more things.  first also try pinging 127.0.0.1 and then post the results of a route print.

in the settings on your xbox, turn off -use static ip address,   that fixed it on mine...
