I can NOT get the ftp working.

I've tried just about everything. FTP works fine when I do it form EvoX though...

What does this mean?   It works when you FTP from EvoX?  What are you FTP'ing into?

How are you changing the xbox ip? with a hex editor?
lets say you leave it default and your pc is 192.168.10.x then have the subnet be 255.255.255.0
is this a crossover cable?
and just so i'm clear, with EVERYTHING else the same except the ftp server, one being 4978 bios, other being evox, it works for you to evox but not the bios?

i'm running out of things that can be wrong.  especially since you can't even ping it.  Unless for some reason it isn't loading the nic up.  for user / pass you use x3 /x3 right? remember its different from evox.

when all this is connected and you think you have the right ip's is there a link light on your pc or the xbox?

Have you tried the alternate 192.168.0.9 IP bios released from Team X?

I am using that one and have no problems (well, no problems with the FTP anyway).

well i'm out.  the fact that you can't even ping yet everything works fine with evox just points to either your ip's which are fine or the bios being screwy on your machine.  It is an alpha release so...

This is odd..

I have been seeing a lot of prople posting "problems" with 4978.  One guy was complainign that he could no longer run some games (Halo) of the HDD with the 4978 flash - but could run them when he flashed back to 4977....

ANyone else seeing a similar pattern?

For the halo game: It is true that the game does not work on the 4978. What I did is the following: every time I want to play halo, I start my x-box so that it uses the original ms bios. normally it also loads the ms dashboard after that and you will be able to play the game. however I do not know how to start the different bioses, this depends on the chip you have...i have the nitroxxx chip and it works perfectly.

4978 does not support DHCP.
