well since you're using a crossover cable its simple

change the xbox ip to 192.168.1.3 and the pc crossover nic to 192.168.1.2  subnet 255.255.255.0 for both.
no gateway.

You want to put your .4 IP as the gateway, and when you connect with flash FXP use .5

WinSock 2.0
Connecting to XBOX
Connection failed (Connection timed out)
Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1
Retry attempt Aborted

same message as always  dry.gif

what is winsock 2.0, could that be part of the problem?

Here's how you're going to get this working... when i suggest something and you try it, even if it doesn't work, don't go back to the way you had cause its just wrong and we need to make progress.
for example i had posted up top more this:
"change the xbox ip to 192.168.1.3 and the pc crossover nic to 192.168.1.2 subnet 255.255.255.0 for both.
no gateway."

and yet you just posted you are using 192.168.0.4 on your pc and 192.168.0.5 on your xbox

PLEASE MAKE THAT CHANGE.  but leave the other nic in your system that is NOT connected to the xbox at 192.168.0.2

Also, do not make the gateway the same as the nic ip address.  In fact all your gateway's should say 192.168.0.1, even the ones connected with crossover to xbox, it won't hurt anything.

Once all this is set try it.  If it doesn't work don't go back the way it was.  just post if you can ping or what exact error you get from the ftp.

very nice.  now change it all back but this time on the nic that is connected with crossover to your xbox don't put in a gateway.  make it 0.0.0.0
let me know.

edit: oh and no matter what you do on your pc if your g/f machine loses its internet connection then something is wrong with your router.  Your g/f machine has a wireless connection to the router so no matter what you do on your machine that should not go down.

I want you to do what is quoted here... note the .1.3 and .1.2 as opposed to .0.3 or .0.2
and i don't want you to put in a gateway for the crossover nics but for the other in your pc make sure gateway is 192.168.0.1
