Netoworking With A Router
« on: May 16, 2003, 10:47:00 AM »

i just got a 120 GB HDD and reformatted

and followed the connection guide :http://evox.xboxhackz.net/evox/guides/body_basic_networking.html
with my router..

but i'm not getting anywhere.

It still says no link on my Xbox and there is no light for conection 3 on the router (i.e. to the xbox)

what am i doing wrong?

should all i have to do is plug it in?

if u were able to get it with the ethernet cards then u know the box is ok, i would say it is either the cable, or the port on the router, check another port cus it is not showing the link which is a hardware thing, those lites come on if it detects a link and doesnt bother with software so thats how u know its hardware.

I like the crossover cable the best, but a router will help with the ability to see the lights.
